Cartier makes some very classy watches. I would refer to these, not as “men’s watches,” but more as “gentlemen’s watches.” Indeed, Cartier is the taste of many a refined gentleman. Perhaps this is the most interesting watch in the world.

The natural feel of this watch doesn’t mean it is dowdy however. There is an 18kt pink gold case as well as octagonal crown with The case, octagonal crown, and buckle all are 18kt pink gold–how very refreshing. The octagonal crown also boasts a sapphire set into it. Speaking of sapphire, the sapphire crystal is scratch resistant and the watch is water resistant to 30 meters–talk about durable. A rhodium plated dial and mechanical movement with manual winding top out the list of specs for this piece.

Now, the case is about 44.6×34.6 mm which makes it quite large. Coupled with the big roman numerals this watch is easier to read than the back of a cereal box. However, if you have petite feature than perhaps this is not the watch for you. But, if you are a refined gentleman like Ernest Hemingway, Theodore Roosevelt, or the guy from the beer commercials, then this is the perfect watch for you.

The screws are small enough to not detract from the watch and do give the Cartier Love a modern look. There are other models of this watch which do not have the diamonds, but only the screws on the bezel. I do not find those models to be as attractive as this one, therefore, the diamonds do add a lot to the overall appearance of this watch.

This makes the perfect romantic gift and any woman would appreciate receiving such a gorgeous watch, especially a watch which is called ‘Love’. This watch goes nicely with anything in your wardrobe and can work in any number of environments stylistically. The hands are luminous so it’s easier to read in dark and dimly lit areas; you will never be straining or squinting for the time! The date is magnified and displayed at the three o’clock position and the watch is self-winding with automatic movement. It is also nice to know that the watch is water resistant up to one hundred meters in case you accidentally fall into a pond or something like that but I would not be the one to swim Olympic style or take it to the beach to test its limits. It’s just not that kind of watch!

While there are some watches that hold a unisex appeal, the Cartier Délices W8100003 is nothing but feminine. From the curvaceous shape to the 18K rose gold material this watch is girly and sweet, but not without intrigue. The ovular 18K rose gold case is set with a lacquered silver dial. The dial is adorned with black Roman numeral hour markers at every hour and sword-shaped blue steel hour and minute hands. It is all protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal window. The blue steel hands pair elegantly with the circular, grained crown set with a sapphire cobochon. The shape of the 18K rose gold bezel lends this timepiece and air of fluidity that flows flawlessly into the 18K rose gold link bracelet that fastens with a folding clasp.

Other features of the marvelous Cartier Délices W8100003 include:
• Swiss quartz movement—to ensure a high level of accuracy
• Water resistance to 100 feet—so this watch won’t be ruined when it rains
• Exterior flanqué on the lacquered dial—an intricate machine-engraved pattern formed on the interior of the bezel

While there’s nothing not to love about the Cartier Délices W8100003, this particular watch does come with a few alternatives. The Cartier Santos Galbée W20012C4 is a timepiece that completes any elegant casual look. This is a two-toned timepiece that contrasts the strength of brushed stainless steel with the glamor of 18K gold. The 18K gold fixed bezel is set with a white, opaline dial that is adorned with blue metallic, sword shaped hands and Roman numeral hour markers, both of which are luminescent. The hour markers are lined with an inner ring of minute markers. The case of the watch is completed with the detail of an octagonal cabochon crown. The brushed, stainless steel link bracelet features the additional detail of 18K gold screws, while strikingly, the 18K gold bezel features stainless steel screws.
